Sound Design (FOP)

Hey y'all, we're approaching the end of the blogpost season!

Today we're going over the sound design of my film opening project.

To create a slightly unsettling and focused atmosphere for the opening scene of our film, we used an eerie and dark mellow sound. We also tried to maintain audience engagement. We aimed to emulate the mystery movie genre, where recognizable sounds indicate the direction of the opening while evoking unease.

Additionally, we noticed that in most "true crime" documentaries, the music is often serious and dark to emphasize the gravity of the situation and prompt the audience to be fully engaged. With our mockumentary, we aimed for a similar effect.

We used special microphones to capture the sound of the interviewee's voice more clearly, which gives it a more professional-grade sound as well.

Next time we'll discuss the overall mise-en-scène of the opening.

Until then, c'yall next time!
