Challenges While Filming (FOP)

Hey y'all, I'm back again with another post. Today we will discuss me and my group's challenges in preparing to film and filming our witness statements for our film.

One of the challenges we had was lighting and audio. We had to film in our school's library and had these LED lights on tripod stands. Setting up the lighting was difficult because the cords were short, so we had to find an extension cable. The wire for the lavalier mic — the mic that is clipped on people's shirts on reality talk shows or during actual documentary interviews — was also short so we feared the computer was going to be in the shot.

We got everything in 2 or 3 shots while filming the statements. Ernest and Johlissa definitely pulled their weight in this project by setting up the black curtain and making sure the lights worked, to being the actors and helping get the statements. We only had to reshoot my scene because they kept making me laugh, but besides that, everything went smoothly.

We had fun preparing to film and filming the videos we needed. Next is to get some b-roll but that's something I can do. After that, we start editing the final parts of the film, and its done.

Now, I would write more, but I had to return some film equipment to Amazon.

C'yall next time!
